The education is pretty average. It's neither insanely poor, nor outstandingly up-to-date. By itself, some programs would deserve 2,5/5 stars. I cannot agree with others who state that the architecture of the buildings is "beautiful". It's just ugly concrete and poorly planned. The campus is spread over the city. Students and teachers sometimes have to go from one building to the next in short amount of times and since it's the Netherlands there is a very good chance that there will be rain. Food choices are quite broad at the cafeteria but it's nothing special. I've had better at other universities. What did strike me the most was the bureaucratic terror regime that is brought upon students AND teachers by the sheer incompetence of the administrative personal. While some are okay, others are uncooperative, unmotivated, pushy and even malevolently using the bureaucratic system against students and teachers. Finally, I'd like to point out that this campus, and thus by extension also the administration, seems very concerned with their public image. Indeed, many organisations and expositions are held around themes as "inequality" (understand inequality of outcome), "injustice" and the wage and post-modern concept of "social justice". I wonder where all the money, money that serves to propagate the ideological agenda of previously said people. The place seems to be run, or at least infiltrated, by too many extreme left ideologues advancing their own agenda. This is of course the last thing you want in an "university" (saxion is not a university but a college at best, university is not a protected term) since it should be a place where seeking the truth should be the priority of teachers and students alike. If you want an average education, you might want to consider this place. This may depend on which department organizes the curriculum. If you aspire to excellency, you will have to find some better place.

International students, please don't go to Saxion housing, I don't have time nor energy to comment on how bad it is after dealing with them. The university is mediocre, would maybe deserve 2-3 stars if the housing wasn't that bad, but not more. Some of the teachers are really good, others aren't so good, but the university itself is quite bad.

Smart Solutions wasted my money and made me want to quit, as well as how teachers literally didn't care about me being paired with 4 inadequate students who couldn't even speak English! And the project had to be in English, so we used a google translate. It was horrible. Wasted money, time and health. In general if you have a better option, please find a different uni.

Good experiences with this university. International focused combined with a good support for students to integrate into Enschede. Many organisations are connected and willing to help with finding accomodation or a student job.

You are the worst institution ever! You dont let students pass and they are replying the school year! Your HR program is without any REAL practice and it includes only lame theory and you are giving then the diploms as "Art Mastery" instead of ahything related as an HR diplom! Shame on you!

Pro’s: - a chance to get hands on experience through so many internships - you are given an opportunity to reflect on yourself - a potentially supercool curriculum Cons: - university provides you with no connections, unlike other universities. Infact, I felt discriminated against at some points. - many teachers cannot properly speak English, get their point across and at times admit that their English isn’t good enough to explain something - no supervision on what is being taught by teachers in the classroom, most times there is 0 guidance and a lack of balance between self study and classes - international Office does not help students who are left homeless, or provide viable options for them after the first year - teachers who don’t know what they’re talking about at times and are very out of it and uninterested. Having a teaching degree or whatever doesn’t make u a teacher- saxion doesn’t understand that. -

I've seen quite a few universities in my life and Saxion is by far the most impressive, the friendly environment of both students and staff alongside the fantastic campus has really secured my love for Enschede and the Netherlands! Can't wait to study here!
