★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bij Scharlei ligt er altijd een verhaaltje met thee en taart voor me klaar. De taart en mn gesprekspartner zijn altijd een verassing, maar van een goeie tijd ben ik verzekerd.
At Scharlei there is always a story with tea and cake ready for me. The cake and my conversation partner are always a surprise, but I am assured of a good time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hartelijk welkom door de eigenaresse en haar assistente. We waren vroeg. Taarten nog in de oven. Maar er was al wel klein gebak. Smakelijk en vers. Zo ook de koffie. Het etablissement dient tevens galerie. Met allerlei kunstzinnigheden en culturele cadeautjes. Zo kan je tijdens de koffie enorm 'window-shoppen'. Daar heb ik het ook bij gelaten, want ze is niet goedkoop.
A warm welcome by the owner and her assistant. We were early. Cakes still in the oven. But there were already small cakes. Tasty and fresh. So is the coffee. The establishment also serves gallery. With all kinds of art and cultural gifts. This way you can 'window shop' during a coffee. I left it at that too, because it is not cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a nice little hidden place for a hot drink after bicycling. We had to wait a bit longer for the toasties, which was a pity. But, the bread was fresh and delicious and the toasties as a whole very nice.
The host is a very lovely motherly type that helps the cosy atmosphere.
