Zijn vader had een oude brommer in opslag staan, die Bram aan een vriendje kon verkopen. Hij was toen 16 en maakte een slimme deal: de vriend kon hem krijgen voor een mooie prijs, als Bram elke dinsdag en donderdag achterop mocht naar school en weer terug.
Al snel wilde hij zelf natuurlijk ook een brommer.
Bram tikte een bakbeest op de kop, dat ook nog zeldzaam bleek te zijn: een Fantic Caballero. Hij begon te sleutelen, achterin de garage van zijn vader. Daar nam hij langzamerhand zijn eigen plek in. Hij kocht brommers in, knapte ze in alle rust op. Vaak reed hij er een tijdje op rond, voordat hij ze weer verkocht. En daar liggen de roots van Scooty: liefde voor het sleutelen, passie voor brommers en scooters.
