In the website, it is said nowhere that the person that pays for the reservation has to be the driver and has to pay for the deposit. Besides, we did the reservation with two different names, and no one told us nothing until we were in the office, where the agent just gave us options, not telling that they will cost more. And finally, made us take the youngest driver as a main driver, charging, of corse, 15€ more. Furthermore, in the offer, it is said that we have 200Km for free. It made us think that we had fuel for 200km for free. But no, we had to pay for the Km extra, an exaggerated amount of 0,2€/Km. Of course, fuel a part. We didn't choose the right company at all. Not to talk about the service, all the personal trying to sell the most expensive insurances and extras, not even helping with the problem we had with the card. I think the company should be more sensitive, specially to students, which have a more limited budget, and to which they charged THE DOUBLE of the amount that they were expecting to pay. Moreover, the car had a scratch on the bottom, if it wasn't for us, that we saw it just before taking the car, I'm pretty sure the company would have charged us an extra for something we didn't do. Even tough there was personal revising it, the guy just went around, pretending that the car was in perfect conditions, when it was not. Not a recommendable company at all. I've had much better experiences with Autoeurope.

I have used Sixt auto rent a couple of times now without problem. Except for the last time. I rented a van on 31st of juli. Everything was fine, i put it back as i should have, got the end bill and i should get the refund of the security deposit within 2 weeks. I contacted them after 2 weeks without getting it back. They said something went wrong and they would fix it. I got have it with 7 work days, after the waiting i call again. They tell me it should have been sent but after looking into it it wasn't. This went on a couple of times. They tell me they need 10 workdays now as the procedure has been changed. Well its been nearly two months and there is stil no result. I have had contact with them 12 times, no result. They keep making excuses that it's the same in Germany and France and that the problem is with the German headquarters. Beware of using their service, you might lose you security deposit.

Never anymore. The van I rented didn't have full tank, but ok; I brought it back making sure to leave it full. The following Monday I received the invoice for 56 euros more than expected, the description said "fueling" (46 + 10 taxes). After having asked what that was about, they told me that they had to put some liters in the tank and the rest of the money was their fee for putting the gasoline in! I asked for a receipt of the gasoline or some proof and the only thing they could tell me was that "they would ask to the guy that did gasoline if he *really* put fuel in the van" and that they would let me know. Never heard anything anymore from them. It was the second time I rented with them and both times it has been daylight robbery, with hidden costs popping here and there. Never anymore.

Mijn advocaat is aan de slag met dit, eerste punt Nice service, no complaints there. They really are just doing their job and I respect that. I booked an A4, had a free upgrade to an A5 (which I said I'm grateful for!) I go to pick the car up, and because this company would rather take a credit card as deposit, instead of paying the entire total up front on a debit card, I could only hire an Opel Corsa. €176 for 1 day. Joke isn't the word. Belachelijk ook niet. Then, just as I go to pay, "there's also a €300 deposit that will be paid back in 10 working days" €576. Opel Corsa. I acknowledge it's my fault for not reading the small print. So all things considered, it's still a 1 star review unfortunately. €176 for a days hire. The day after, I rented a Citroen C1 from autopallas for 25 euros. I already have my deposit back from them. Alles was in het Nederlands gesproken. Dus dit ervaring telt ook voor ons als Nederlanders (Geen 'tourist tax' situatie dus). Sikkom heeft net een perstip gekrijgen ? They're basically using my €300 deposit as a 2 week bond with 0% interest. Very clever, Sixt. But a lot of people like me aren't stupid. You made a sale, not a customer. Your loss forever, my financial loss until you return my deposit. Tot ehm, nooit meer!

Robbery, it's all I can say. Majority of costs are completely hidden which you don't find out about until you receive the invoice numerous days later. I was charged a considerable sum for petrol following the return of the vehicle despite re-filling 3km from their shop. When asked for proof of the amount, no feedback. I was sent a picture of the dashboard in which the needle indicates completely full. No explanation as to how the added cost was calculated, complete fraud. When contacting customer support, they laughed when confronted with my questions. To add to this, when picking the car up at branch, I was told about the numerous "insurance" packages they provide. To avoid any issue, I bought the "top tier" package which was an added 100 EUR for 2 days. I was told by the agent that the top tier insurance package covers everything possible. Despite this, I was charged 50 EUR for damage and theft when invoiced & when I asked the customer service about this, they provided no info. Majority of the costs seem completely fake in which you will receive no explanation. It would almost be cheaper and definitely more convenient to buy your own car.
