Dezelfde dag heb ik gebeld met het verzoek om enkele flessen voor me weg te zetten, zodat ik deze de dag erna kon ophalen. Toen ik ze ging ophalen, stonden de flessen nog steeds in het schap maar men 'kon ze niet verkopen' omdat 'iemand al naar de prijs geïnformeerd had' (niet gereserveerd). Ik zou na het weekend terug gebeld worden en als ze dan nog niet verkocht waren, kon ik ze kopen. Er werd niet gebeld, dus twee weken later ging ik terug. De flessen stonden nog steeds in het schap, maar nog steeds kon ik ze niet kopen en weer werd mij beloofd dat ik de dag erna terug gebeld zou worden. Ook kreeg ik de belofte dat niet alle flessen aan dezelfde klant verkocht zouden worden, aangezien er inmiddels 'meerdere geïnteresseerden' waren. In de daarop volgende maanden volgden vele bezoekjes, telefoontjes en e-mails aan de slijterij, maar nooit kreeg ik een zinnig antwoord. Uiteindelijk bleek dat men door mijn interesse in deze flessen had ontdekt dat deze inmiddels voor hogere prijzen bij concurrenten te koop stonden en dat ze deze via een ander kanaal voor een hogere prijs verkocht hebben dan waarvoor ze in de winkel stonden. Ik kreeg de belofte dat ze het goed zouden maken en me de week erna terug zouden bellen, maar de uitkomst kunt u wel raden... The company list & deception. In April 2014 I bought a few bottles of whiskey at this liquor store. The same day I called to put some bottles away in front of me so that I could pick them up the next day. When I went to pick them up, the bottles were still on the shelf, but people "could not sell them" because "someone had already inquired about the price" (not reserved). I would be called back after the weekend and if they were not sold, I could buy them. There was no call, so two weeks later I went back. The bottles were still on the shelf, but I still couldn't buy them and I was promised again that I would be called back the next day. I was also promised that not all bottles would be sold to the same customer, since there were now 'several interested parties'. In the following months, many visits, phone calls, and emails to the liquor store followed, but I never received a meaningful answer. In the end it turned out that my interest in these bottles had discovered that they were now for sale at competitors' prices and that they sold them through a different channel for a higher price than what they were in the store for. I was promised that they would make it up and call me back the following week, but you can guess the outcome ...
S	Stephen Finnie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited here Saturday 2nd October 2021, it's practically next door to the Gulpener bottle shop. The Westvleteren crate outside made me curious enough to venture inside. It's at the western edge of the village/town, so Masstricht side, there is free parking 300 metres or so just off to the left of here, just follow the signs, the parking is just past the water mill pancake house restaurant. This is a nice shop with a really good focus on wines and spirits, but a decent selection of Belgian and Dutch beers mostly located towards the back. Nothing out of the ordinary when I visited but if the Gulpener place next door is closed there is a wide range of Gulpener here. Plenty of decent Belgian beers including the usual Trappists, though I didn't see Westvleteren on my visit. I guess that it's worth poking your head around the door if you want to stock up on some Belgian beers.
