★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Van goede vrienden kregen wij een antieke stoof (een hout gestookt fornuis) die wij konden plaatsen in een overdekte buitenruimte in onze tuin. Er zat echter geen rookkanaal bij. De stoof is nog uit 1800 evenals de ovale uitlaat . Geen standaard maat en de tegenwoordige kachelpijpen zijn rond. Via internet vonden wij een smid genaamd Harm Struik waar wij contact mee zochten. Deze uiterst aimabele man hebben wij via whats app voorzien van wat maten en een verzoek of het mogelijk was om iets te creëren van een kachelpijp die van ovaal naar rond moest lopen en aan kon sluiten op een dubbelwandige pijp. Normaal duurt zo'n opdracht vrij lang maar na enkele dagen verscheen Harm met twee delen metaal die direct perfect paste. De volgende dag heeft hij de delen aan elkaar gelast en zonder dat er iets van een lasnaad te zien was hadden wij een kachelpijp. Ook kregen wij informatie hoe de stoof zou moeten werken en Harm maakte er ook nog een roostertje bij zodat er gestookt kon worden. Prijs kwaliteit een 10! Gelukkig zijn er ook in ons land nog mensen met een echt ambacht die in staat zijn iets moois te maken, al moet je ze met een lampje zoeken. Harm heel erg bedankt, de stoof werkt inmiddels als het modernste fornuis.
 Good friends gave us an antique stove (a wood-fired stove) that we could place in a covered outdoor space in our garden. However, there was no flue. The stove is from 1800 as well as the oval exhaust. No standard size and the current stovepipes are round. Via the internet we found a blacksmith named Harm Struik whom we contacted. We provided this extremely amiable man with some measurements via whats app and a request whether it was possible to create something from a stovepipe that had to run from oval to round and could connect to a double-walled pipe. Normally such an assignment takes quite a long time, but after a few days Harm appeared with two parts of metal that immediately fit perfectly. The next day he welded the parts together and without any visible weld seam we had a stovepipe. We also received information on how the stove should work and Harm also made a small grid so that it could be fired. Price quality a 10! Fortunately, there are also people in our country with a real craft who are able to make something beautiful, even if you have to look for them with a lamp. Thank you very much Harm, the stove now works like the most modern stove.
