About SOY Aziatisch Vegetarische Keuken

Soy heeft haar deuren op 15 maart 2010 geopend. Als één van de weinige vegetarisch aziatische restaurants bevinden wij ons in Utrecht, het hart van Nederland. De gerechten worden bereid zonder vlees en vis. Wij gebruiken de beste natuurproducten en vleesvervangers die zij deels importeren uit Azië.

Onze Aziatische chef-kok meneer Lee heeft al jaren ervaring als chef kok in Chinees Indische restaurants. Toen hij in 2002 besloot om samen met zijn vrouw vegetariër te worden was hij op zoek naar iets nieuws. Door het reizen in Azië samen met zijn vrouw hebben zij inspiratie en ervaringen opgedaan met vegetarisch eten. Waarna zij besloten om Aziatisch vegetarische gerechten in Nederland te introduceren.

De naam Soy is geïnspireerd door de sojabonen (Soybeans). In het verre oosten vormt de sojaboon al duizenden jaren het hoofdbestanddeel van het voedselpakket. De sojaboon is zelfs één van de oudste Chinese landbouwgewassen. De hele sojabonen zijn een uitstekende bron van eiwitten (40%), onverzadigde vetten, mineralen, vitamines, voedingsvezel en gezondheidsbevorderende componenten zoals isoflavonen, fytaten en saponinen. De sojaboon overtreft alle andere voedingsmiddelen, zelfs vis en vlees, wat betreft het eiwitgehalte. Behalve het hoog eiwitgehalte zijn de eiwitten van de sojaboon ook van zeer goede kwaliteit omdat ze alle 8 essentiële aminozuren in een zeer gunstige verhouding bevat.

Best Vegetarian restaurant in netherlands

A	Alyse Heikkinen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe some of the best Asian food I’ve ever had. I highly recommend the hot & sour soup, Kung pao “chicken” with noodles. Not too greasy or sweet, really fresh. The woman who took my order didn’t speak a bit of English except “vegan” and “vegetarian”, but she was very patient and accommodating.

Many dishes use meat or dairy substitutes and I would not be able to tell the difference to the original. I would definitely pick soy over the other Indonesian restaurants available. This is a family owned restaurant and you can tell this from the friendly service and great food!
