Freule Teding van Berkhout stichtte in 1874 het Diaconessenhuis in Haarlem. De freule behoorde tot de protestantse kring van het RΓ©veil, die religieuze verdieping wilde combineren met hulpverlening.

In 1874 kocht freule Teding een huis aan de Nieuwe Gracht 90 in Haarlem, dat plaats bood aan acht patiënten. Enkele jaren later nam zij een nieuw gebouw in gebruik aan de Hazepaterslaan.

In 1973 was de nieuwbouw klaar in Heemstede.

I went in barely able to speak due to extreme pain, the receptionist worked out my mumbles and was seen straight away. At every step everyone was amazing, helpful, and caring. One of the dinner ladies even gave me a bit of a swiveled eye when I didn't want veg with my dinner - it was really sweet. She did smile before she left the room. The room was clean, spacious, and modern. There was even a small fridge, but didn't find that until my last day there. From the receptionist, to ice, surgery, and the renal ward - 10 stars all around.

I had a very bad experience there . The staffs were very rude as well . No recommended .

Ok staf but need more one floor. If you just delivered a baby for the first time you don't get enough attention or info. And if you need to be operated on at night they will let you wait until operating staff comes in in the morning. So I give it a 3

Bad hospital!! They gave me wrong medicines like twice in a row.. and they let you wait very long even when you're in so much pain. Also they are not friendly and professional! This hospital sucks big time, don't go here!

I had to go there a day ago as I needed urgent help. After not even 5 minutes, a nurse got me in and took all necessary information. Then iv line and pain management. After a short while, the doctor arrived and checked me. After not even 2 hours, the problem was solved and I was on the way home. A very high level of professionalism was provided but the atmosphere was also very calm and even funny. I can really recommend Spaarne Gasthuis in Hoofddorp Spoedeisende Hulp.

Poor medical, technical and psychological performance. My wife was in a serious situation and the number of medical, psychological and technical mistakes were too much for a big hospital like this one. They have all the potentials and tools to work perfectly but they need to work more on raising their performing standards. I hope the hospital provides an easy access / channel for complains and feedback so I can provide mine with the intention of making it a better hospital serving Hoofddorp area.

I am foreigner leaving in NL for 4 years now , understand very basic Dutch words. Having my own business there is no need for me to speak fuent in Dutch however I speak 7 other languages. I was admitted yesterday for a surgery and taken "care" by insane nurse Lily . She started her conversation in Dutch and I politely told her I speak English, then she say I speak Dutch and kept asking can you speak Dutch I said No I don't. She said it's a problem then I cant speak English too. Then she came back with a questionnaire paper again started all in Dutch this time I am getting little pist off, then she asked me how long you live here I said 4 years then you must speak Dutch living in my country. She was the most rude and unfriendly nurse I met in my life ! I am in excruciating pain waiting for my operation and here she is lecturing me and stressing me up. She was fierce with no eyebrows and no smile. I said if you asked me in Dutch I am not gonna answer its pertaining to my health issues. I cant answer to what I dont understand. She walked away. After that I walked out with blue gown for the operation and approach another nurse and told her and asked if possible to change the nurse. After the complain Lily came back and started her conversation in English without any problem. She speak well in English but just choose not. LILY did same thing to my hubby at waiting room , she need to check some info from him as Next to Kin contact person, she spoke in Dutch, hubby said English pls "Oh another one doesn't speak Dutch in my country" hubby said I dont speak Dutch but I pay Tax so you should treat all equally with respect.
