★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prachtig 17e eeuws raadhuis, dat geen raadhuis meer is. Ergens onder de tongewelven van de kelders zaten ooit de cachotten, daar bevindt zich ook het geweten van het college van B&W dat dit unieke gebouw ondanks de nodige kritiek uit de gemeenschap toch in de verkoop deed (want 'overbodig' vanwege gemeentelijke herindeling), maar later onder druk toch de 'verkoopvoorwaarden' aanpaste. Het complex, onderdeel van het beschermd dorpsgezicht ging in september 2019 in de verkoop en kwam in handen van Haastrechtenaar Van Bemmel. Hij wil het gebouw behouden voor Haastrecht (wordt o.m. trouwlocatie en sociëteit), ook blijft het (deels) openbaar. Dus toch nog: eind goed, al goed. Volgens het Kadaster was de verkoopprijs 611.111 euro.

The complex, part of the protected townscape, went on sale in September 2019 and came into the hands of Haastrechtenaar Van Bemmel. He wants to keep the building for Haastrecht (will be a wedding location and society), it will also remain (partly) public. So still: that ends well, all right. According to the Land Registry, the sales price was 611,111 euros.
