 Very nice for the little ones and parking nearby. Also nice starting point for walks through the Rekerhout.

De geitjes hebben we wel een keer gezien
Misschien wat tijgers inslaan of een tamme olifant scoren.
Verder zou een anaconda echt een must see zijn.

Maybe stock up on some tigers or score a tame elephant.
Furthermore, an anaconda would really be a must see.

β β β β β Goed en mooi en goed onderhouden door alleen maar vrijwilligers geen subsidie van de gemeente alleen donatie van leden en bezoekers.
Good and beautiful and well maintained by volunteers only, no subsidy from the municipality, only donation from members and visitors.

β β β β β Drie minuten voor openingtijd staan we bij de poort te wachten, na een aantal keer voor niets gekomen te zijn. We zijn op tijd want de voorspelling is dat het een warme dag gaat worden (en het is nu ook al flink warm). De kleine zit in de buggy, en we zien dat er al een vrijwilliger bij de poort staat. We lopen die kant op, en de man opent de poort, maar op het moment dat wij naar binnen willen lopen reageert hij boos, "nee nee, we gaan pas om 10 uur open!" nadat ik reageer dat het nu 2 minuten voor 10 is, doet hij de poort achter de vrouw die hij wel naar binnen liet dicht en loopt weg. Ik heb nog 10 minuten in de volle zon met klein kind staan te wachten maar er kwam niemand naar buiten. Grote teleurstelling bij de kleine natuurlijk. Je zou denken dat ze blij zijn dat de kinderboerderij weer open mag, en dat nieuwe donateurs welkom zijn, maar dat blijkt dus nogal tegen te vallen.
Three minutes before opening time we are waiting at the gate, after having come several times for nothing. We are on time because the forecast is that it will be a warm day (and it is already quite warm). The little one is in the buggy, and we see that a volunteer is already standing at the gate. We walk in that direction, and the man opens the gate, but the moment we want to walk in, he reacts angrily, "no no, we don't open until 10 o'clock!" after I respond that it is now 2 minutes to 10, he closes the gate behind the woman he did let in and walks away. I waited another 10 minutes in full sun with small child but no one came out. Big disappointment with the little one of course. You would think that they would be happy that the petting zoo can open again, and that new donors are welcome, but that turns out to be quite disappointing.
