Ze zijn vanaf het begin heel duidelijk en eerlijk geweest over haar angst, dit is gelukkig helemaal goed gekomen. Het duurde even voor we haar officieel mochten ophalen, maar dit was het meer dan waard! Fijne organisatie, met vooral hele lieve en zorgzame opvang gezinnen Our dog Luna (Celestia) adopted here, what a lovely dog! They have been very clear and honest about her fear from the start, luckily this turned out all right. It took a while before we were officially allowed to pick her up, but this was more than worth it! Nice organization, with especially very sweet and caring reception families

Na een aantal maanden voelt hij zich op zijn gemak. Leergierig. Vrolijk en entousaist. Absoluut geen spijt van. Summer 2018 decided to add a dog. After a home visit and telephone contact, everything was fine. September 2nd our Lucky arrived. After a few months he feels at ease. Studious. Cheerful and entousaist. Absolutely no regrets.
J	JJ MM on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Een organisatie die mooi werk poogt te doen maar naar onze ervaring helaas in hun houding naar adoptanten tekortschiet. Na een uitgebreid keuzeproces maakten we een zeer specifieke keuze voor een kat, die in de praktijk zowel in uiterlijk als persoonlijkheid heel anders bleek te zijn. Dat terwijl we van tevoren heel specifieke navraag hadden gedaan. Onze ‘kwestie’ werd een aardige tijd genegeerd en de communicatie was moeizaam. Ook hebben we ons best moeten doen om niet €100 ‘administratiekosten’ te hoeven betalen. Het blijkt dat deze kosten worden gebruikt om gastgezinnen te compenseren voor dierenartskosten. Wanneer een adoptant een kat vanwege misinformatie terug aanbiedt voor adoptie, betaalt deze dus onterecht mee voor andermans kosten. Verder werd er gedreigd dat wij een contract hadden getekend waarin staat dat de kat altijd eigendom blijft van Mirtos, en werden we half neergezet als slechte baasjes waarvan de kat moet worden gered. Dat terwijl hij het erg goed had, en zoveel beter dan in het Griekse gastgezin. Het blijft vreemd dat organisaties als deze niet willen werken met een optie-adoptie/gastgezin systeem voor katten, al helemaal als je als adoptant niet weet wat je krijgt. Ze geven (natuurlijk pas achteraf) zelfs letterlijk toe dat ze niet weten of de informatie uit Griekenland wel klopt. Uiteindelijk is het wel opgelost, maar al met al een onprettig proces en toch een beetje een zure nasmaak. An organization that tries to do good work but in our experience unfortunately falls short in their attitude towards adopters. After an extensive selection process, we made a very specific choice for a cat, which in practice turned out to be very different in appearance and personality. That while we had made very specific inquiries in advance. Our "issue" was ignored for quite some time and communication was difficult. It remains strange that organizations like this do not want to work with an option adoption / host family system for cats, especially if you as an adopter do not know what you will get. They even literally admit (of course only afterwards) that they do not know whether the information from Greece is correct. In the end it was resolved, but all in all an unpleasant process and a bit of a sour aftertaste.

De bemiddelaar en de nazorgers houden goed contact over hoe het de katten vergaat en denken mee. Ik ben zeer tevreden over de transparantie/communicatie en zou zeker als ik nog een dier zou willen weer via Mirtos adopteren! I have two cats in my house and both adopted through Mirtos (last summer and last month). The mediator and the aftercare providers keep in touch about how the cats are doing and they think along with you. I am very satisfied with the transparency/communication and would certainly adopt another animal through Mirtos again!

Y	Yvonne C. Belonje on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ That some people , like mr. Lougaris , who want to adopt an animal are disappointed in Mirtos Animal Project is inevitable. It's always tough If people are denied a dog (or a cat) for reasons they don't understand because of a different view on how to raise a (in this case) hyperactive puppy. Mirtos decided it was not a good environment for the dog, in spite of all the good intentions.. Animals are and will be always our first priority.. The fosterfamily policy of Mirtos is to avoid miss matches, so we always listen very carefully to the fosters reports and suggestions, since they are living with- and socializing the dogs & cats 24/7. They know the character and behaviour best, are our ears & eyes and therefore of great importance to Mirtos.. We are sorry Mr. Lougaris, you feel you've wasted your time with us and our home visiter. That of course applies for us too, since all Mirtos people are volunteers and have normal jobs during the week. For them Sunday is just as precious! And as far as Humphrey is concerned, we are pretty confident we will find him a good home, as we do most of the time..!! Personally I find your anger a bit strange, disappointment yes, but anger? But than, since I saw all your different, mostly angry and unsatisfied reviews on the internet, I now not only wish you succes with finding a good mate for your other dog, but also a more relaxt and less angry live for yourself.
P	P Lee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We adopted our beautiful cat Hector via Mirtos and I have been really impressed with their approach. They take the homing of the animals very seriously and offer lots of help and advice. They also follow up with you for a long time after you take your new pet home. They have lots of very lovely cats and dogs so please give one a home if you can!
