★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bijna onopvallend staat de synagoge langs de dijk in Sliedrecht. Het is een klein gebouwtje dat wordt overschaduwd door een enorme electriciteitsmast.
De synagoge bestaat uit een zaal met een galerij op dijkniveau en daaronder een kleinere zaal en een minimuseum. Achter de synagoge bevindt zich een tuin met allerlei bijbelse planten.
De synagoge is op afspraak te bezoeken met groepen. Daarnaast is het gebouw regelmatig in het weekeind geopend. Erediensten worden er niet meer gehouden; wel is de synagoge in gebruik als trouwlocatie.
The synagogue along the dike in Sliedrecht is almost unobtrusive. It is a small building that is overshadowed by a huge electricity pylon.
The synagogue consists of a room with a gallery at the dyke level and below that a smaller room and a mini museum. Behind the synagogue there is a garden with all kinds of biblical plants.
The synagogue can be visited by appointment with groups. In addition, the building is regularly open during the weekend. Worship services are no longer held; the synagogue is in use as a wedding location.
