During the Destillata Gala 2009, the annual Mastery Competition of Artisanal Distilled - Praemierung der weltbesten Braende - in Austria, Lubberhuizen & Raaff received the Edelbrand des Jahres award for their eau-de-vie of quinces.

Van de dijk moet je langs de toren naar beneden het dorp in en direct onder de dijk links ligt de ingang (van toren en distilleerderij). Met open monumentendagen kun je de toren beklimmen. We zijn er geweest en hebben ook een uitgebreide uitleg van een van de stokers gekregen. Gewoon een enthousiast verheel, en als je geluk hebt kun je diverse producten proeven. Wij hebben op een calvados gelijkende drank geprobeerd. Maar ze hebben nog veel meer drankjes gemaakt met lokale vruchten. Machtig mooi product dat kan wedijveren met andere bekende buitenlandse producten.
You can already see this square tower by Varik from a great distance. From the dike you have to go past the tower down into the village and directly under the dike on the left is the entrance (to the tower and distillery). On Heritage Days you can climb the tower. We have been there and also received an extensive explanation from one of the distillers. Just an enthusiastic whole, and if you are lucky you can taste various products. We have tried a calvados-like drink. But they have made many more drinks with local fruits. Mighty beautiful product that can compete with other well-known foreign products.
