The rooms where clean, amazing view over the Ijselmeer. But I must say that the caperts where very dirty with marks and the wallpaper was coming of the wall in the corner. The room has not enough plug to charge your phone or laptop. Wifi was good in the whole hotel. Breakfast: that wasn't good enough for me, i would have expected more local products which is a pity cause i think Friesland has more to offer. Then the buffet for the breakfast is too small for all the guests, the buffet was empty all the time and wasn't filled up quick enough, the same for the coffee and tea bar. Diner: Food great, staff very friendly but way to less staff for the whole restaurant which was fully booked both thime we ate there, The Hotel is going to be renovated the next months so I assume the renovation will come out nicely. If we are travelling the region again we will visit the Vigilante again. We where lucky with the weather we had 2 amazing days in Makkum.
H	Hary Rybak on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well, we are still here . We are very like the service and the very friendly stuff. Even the Bar and Restaurant is very nice. But there are a few little things that should not be happen at a 4 Star Hotel. Who told the Cook to put Water into the scrambled Eggs ? All what belongs in them is Cream French... . Additional there is not Fridge and/or Mini Bar ( at least with Water and Juices ) in the Room , and a Water cooker with Coffee and tea is also missing. That is something that should be standard. But after all it is one of the best Hotels I have had in the Netherlands. The reason is that you be threaded as a Guest, not as a potential Cash risk. Nobody ask to get payed in front, the drinks go without question on the Room Bill. Thats a service as it should be. If they work on the minor inconveniences its a nearly perfect Hotel.
M	Mélanie Loreille on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this place for the following reasons: The location - right by the beach which enables to have a very nice view during breakfast or drinks at night but also means that you can directly walk on the sand from the hotel The staff - welcoming, friendly and helpful. They are all dedicated to your good stay. Why did I not put a 5? Because the bedrooms were quite average (bathroom small and not practical, mattress very soft, old carpet, old heater) and would deserve to be renovated to keep up with the hotel standards.
P	PAUL MAYE on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a nice hotel for a couple of days but for a week don’t do it the food is expensive for what you get the room is nice but the beds feel like you daily chair there are not enough plugs only if you are with one pers nice room and nieuw but it took around from 9 am when we left to 3 pm we where back and it was not cleaned so at the end it was cleaned at 4 30 pm nice but I think 3 stars is enough though

Coffee was replenished regularly and the conference room was always clean but the Wifi and projector systems rarely worked at a functional level. If the lunches were remotely enjoyable it would be a 4 star experience.
