About Sumo
In 2005 begon het allemaal in Rotterdam aan het Schouwburgplein als een klein en intiem Aziatisch restaurantje dat als één van de eerste het “all-you-can-eat concept” hanteerde en uitgroeide tot een mateloos populaire formule. Op de dag van vandaag is SUMO door heel Nederland te vinden. Van Amsterdam tot aan Breda kunt u genieten van een heerlijke, Japanse & Aziatische lunch of diner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I placed an order for about of 45 euro at 18h. The order was supposed to arrive at 19h. But it hasn't. At 19:30h I called the restaurant only to be told by the employee that that they don't speak English, and they kept me on the line for 10 minutes without telling me what is going on. After those 10 minutes someone who actually speaks English told me that they haven't even started working on my order. They asked me if I still wanted it or if they should cancel. I said they should cancel and the employee promised a full refund. I thought that during this hard lockdown in the Netherlands the restaurants are actually barely surviving on takeouts and deliveries. I haven't had a chance to try their food, but I can't imagine that any food would be that good to outweigh such appalling service. Especially not at a restaurant that among other things, offers cream cheese sushi! I'll never order from it again, nor will I visit when they reopen. I'll also make sure to share my experience as widely as possible. What shocked me the most is their nonchalant attitude while being so outrageously unprofessional.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolute must try. Don't eat anything the day before you go. The restaurant caters to introverts with a tablet-based ordering scheme. You won't leave this place hungry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went with 3 people, unlimited diner menu. The sushis and seafood are tasty but service and the speed of it is not that great. Some items that we ordered didn't even make the table. I would suggest maybe to go to another sushi restaurant if possible.

Unfortunately last time we were there they did some changes we missed for example the rainbow maki and when you order nigiri ? you geht now 1. Another thing the menu has a new design I like it. The new maki spicy salmon and the EBI Temaki are great. My favorite meal is the mini poke bowl salmon I love it!.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a fun restaurant with a great selection of dishes. You have 6 rounds to order and can order 8 dishes per round, all for about €28,50. I enjoyed all the sushi I had and the fried banana was delicious! Just don’t expect a very personal service, people are nice but have to move very quickly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They had an all you can eat, but we opted for the a la carte. We ordered curry rice, vegetable noodles and spicy tuna sushi and for desert fried bananas.
So.....the two meals were great, the sushi was just OK, can't say it was amazing.
The place's interior design is exceptional, very relaxing atmosphere.
The service was very quick, efficient and friendly.
This place gets full quickly so best to reserve a table before you go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very big Sushi restaurant. The staff is ok. The restaurant is clean and looks organised. The availability of choices of Sushi are average, but the taste of it is good. The drinks are way to expensive. 3,40 euro for a Coke/Pepsi ? It's a Sushi restaurant, not a strip club !
