β β β β β Voormalig blueslabel van onder andere R.L. Burnside, alleen daarom al een legendarische zaak. Een schat aan oude blues- en (vooral) jazzplaten voor lage prijzen, waaronder ook de elpees in eigen beheer. Behulpzame service met ontzettend veel kennis.
 Former blues label from R.L. Burnside, for that reason alone a legendary business. A wealth of old blues and (especially) jazz records for low prices, including the LPs in-house. Helpful service with a lot of knowledge.

β β β β β Zeer goede zaak, de nadruk ligt hier op jazz en blues. Maar.......de eigenaar koopt ook tweedehands vinyl en CD's in en dat levert een heel aardig assortiment sixties muziek, country en popmuziek op. Verkijk je dus niet op het jazz en blues stempel op deze zaak. Je kunt er als liefhebber van andere stromingen heel aardige vondsten doen.
Very good thing, the emphasis here is on jazz and blues. But ....... the owner also buys second-hand vinyl and CDs and that produces a very nice range of sixties music, country and pop music. So don't be mistaken for the jazz and blues stamp on this case. As a fan of other movements you can make very nice discoveries.

β β β β β Fijne zaak en veel kennis aanwezig over Jazz en Blues, een bezoek aan deze zaak heb ik de afgelopen maanden ontzettend gemist! Ik zie er naar uit er weer naar toe te gaan wanneer het weer kan. Vandaag 19 mei 2021 weer geweest en verschillende boeken over Jazz aangeschaft, het is werkelijk fantastisch. Ik zou er de gehele dag kunnen doorbrengen. Gisteren dinsdag 16 november 2021 weer eens bij Swingmaster geweest, een geweldige zaak. Geef aan wat je zoekt en je staat versteld van wat er in de zaak beschikbaar is. Verder loop je daar tegen bekende jazzmuzikanten aan in dit geval de jazzgigant Rein de Graaff jazzpianist die zomaar zijn CD Early Morning Blues overhandigt omdat hij kennelijk door heeft dat ik op zoek ben naar piano jazz. Overigens een geweldige CD van Rein met bassist Marius Beets en Eric Ineke op drums.
Nice place and a lot of knowledge available about Jazz and Blues, I have missed a visit to this place the past few months! I look forward to going there again when I can. Went again today May 19, 2021 and bought several books about Jazz, it is really fantastic. I could spend all day there. Went to Swingmaster again yesterday Tuesday, November 16, 2021, a great thing. Indicate what you are looking for and you will be amazed at what is available in the case. You also run into well-known jazz musicians there, in this case the jazz giant Rein de Graaff jazz pianist who just hands over his Early Morning Blues CD because he apparently realizes that I'm looking for piano jazz. By the way a great CD by Rein with bassist Marius Beets and Eric Ineke on drums.

β β β β β Probably the best selection of jazz on vinyl (also CD) in Europe in a real shop (rather than ebay). Records are presented not only in alphabetical order, but also by label (Blue Note, CTI, Steeplechase, etc). Amazing selection at good prices. The owner is very friendly and apparently also a jazz fan. It is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for unique jazz on vinyl. /Piotr Maciag/

β β β β β I will say it: this is the Best Record Store in Groningen. It may not have the same assortment as Plato, or the hype of Record Store Day exclusives, but what Swingmaster does have is character, history, and intrigue! This is the ideal shop for the student, working person, or low-income vinyl lover who is looking to find a record they love for an affordable price. In this store, a little bit of digging can deliver a lot of treasures. Check the bins under the table and be sure to check the singles in the back for some great scores for cheap.
