★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice destination for Dutch pancakes, ice cream and a walk. There are nice paths around the grounds of Van der Valk which include the Nature Playground and thr complex is close proximity to the Voorschoten Children's Farm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only visited for their ice cream. It was a bit of a search, but it’s the building behind Gouden Leeuw restaurant, all the way to the right. And it was not disappointing. They have at least 24 flavors all year round! And bunch of sorbet (non lactose!) flavors to choose from and also gluten free ice cream. It was even possible to bring some home. While you’re there, you can enjoy the mini donkeys and the sheep. If you’re lucky you may spot a little lamb. Behind this whole place there are more animals (Kinderboerderij Voorschoten), it’s a nice walk after getting ice cream in the evening. Lot’s of parking too.
