I	Iris Groot-Humme on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Van het begin tot aan het eind van ons verblijf in The Black Horse hebben we ons "verwend" gevoeld. Een gezellige, schone en originele kamer, allerlei lekkers bij aankomst. In het restaurant dat Alice ons aanraadde kregen we van "the Black Horse"een drankje aangeboden. Het maakte het allemaal speciaal. 's Avonds bij thuiskomst stonden er weer lekkere dingen klaar plus een fles wijn ( het was dat we tijdens het diner al genoeg hadden gedronken...) En dan het ontbijt, je kan het zo gek niet bedenken, zoveel heerlijkheden! Voor de lunch konden we meenemen wat we wilden! Alice is hartelijk zonder "op te dringen". Kortom een adres dat we iedereen zullen aanraden! Zelf hopen we zeker terug te komen. Albert en Iris Groot From the beginning to the end of our stay at The Black Horse we felt "pampered". A cozy, clean and original room, all kinds of goodies on arrival. In the restaurant that Alice recommended, we were offered a drink from "the Black Horse". It made it all special. In the evening when we arrived home again delicious things were ready plus a bottle of wine (it was that we had drunk enough during dinner ...) And then the breakfast, you can not imagine it, so many goodies! For lunch we could take what we wanted! Alice is cordial without "pushing". In short, an address that we will recommend to everyone! Het is een fantastisch mooie oud Friese boerderij, welke helemaal is gerenoveerd en voldoet aan alle moderne snufjes. De kamers zijn echt schitterend; allen in een eigen stijl, waarin je je direct thuis voelt. Je hebt daarbij je eigen badkamer en wat voor één. Aan werkelijk alle details is gedacht. Alle vloeren zijn voorzien van plavuizen met vloerverwarming, heel schoon dus (vind ik persoonlijk erg belangrijk). Als je wilt kun je ook verblijven in de woonkamer van de B&B. Deze is gezellig ingericht met mooie uitzichten over de weilanden. Ik verblijf vooral zakelijk in de B&B, waarbij je perfecte mogelijkheden hebt om te kunnen werken (de gratis wifi verbinding is heel toegankelijk en vooral snel). Naast dit heerlijke verblijf word je heel hartelijk welkom geheten door de eigenaren van de B&B. Zij doen er werkelijk alles aan om het jou naar de zin te maken. Kortom, meer dan een bezoek waard! Are you looking for a good place to stay in the Drachten area? Then B&B The Black Horse is a perfect location. It is a fantastically beautiful old Frisian farmhouse, which has been completely renovated and meets all modern gadgets. The rooms are really beautiful; all in their own style, in which you immediately feel at home. You have your own bathroom and what kind of bathroom. Really all details have been thought of. All floors are tiled with underfloor heating, so very clean (I personally find it very important). If you want you can also stay in the living room of the B&B. This is nicely furnished with beautiful views over the meadows. I mainly stay for business in the B&B, where you have perfect opportunities to work (the free WiFi connection is very accessible and especially fast). In addition to this wonderful stay, you will receive a very warm welcome from the owners of the B&B. They really do everything to make you happy. In short, more than worth a visit!
G	Gloriant De Neef on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ wij verbleven dit weekend in deze pittoreske bnb. Het koppel dat deze uitbaat was enorm gastvrij en behulpzaam. De kamer was kraaknet en bovendien voorzien van een heus bubbelbad! De sfeer was ongedwongen en hartelijk. wij gingen naar oerrock en er waren voor de gelegenheid zelfs reservefietsen voorzien (daar de fietsen waren gereserveerd). een extra moeite die gedaan werd en typerend was voor heel de ervaring; niets was teveel en er was ruim voorzien in drank en eten. het ontbijt was trouwens uitgebreid en zeer lekker! een aanrader voor al wie er graag even tussenuit trekt en wil ontspannen tussen de weiden en bij echte, eerlijke mensen die je het oprecht naar de zin willen maken. we stayed this weekend in this picturesque bnb. The couple who run this were very hospitable and helpful. The room was immaculate and moreover equipped with a real whirlpool! The atmosphere was casual and cordial. We went to Oerrock and there were even spare bikes for the occasion (since the bikes were reserved). an extra effort that was made and was typical of the whole experience; nothing was too much and there was plenty of food and drinks. the breakfast was extensive and very tasty! a must for those who would like to get away from it all and want to relax among the meadows and with genuine, honest people who want to make you happy.

The breakfasts are exceptional, anything from boiled eggs to caviar with an array of homemade jams. The whole ambience of the B&B was very well thought out with total empathy towards the guest needs. The rooms were well presented and extremely comfortable with accompanying bathrooms which were equalling of the same high standards. A bonus were the animals; horses, pet sheep, chickens, dogs & cats all very friendly and rounding off the cosy atmosphere.

A nice and quiet environment to get lots of work done, but still fairly close to Drachten if you want to go out for dinner or need stuff from the shops. The owners have thought of everything you might need - from a cupboard full of toiletries you may have forgotten to bring to shelves full of DVDs to watch in your room, bikes if you don't happen to have a car and packed lunches for on the road. It's a perfect spot - I still miss the great breakfasts! (Not to mention the biscuits and tea every evening after coming home.)

Harry and Alice made a wonderfully dinner and was great to meet their dogs and of course the beautiful black horses. (not only a great pleasure for the kids). These are genuine B&B owners taking all passion in giving the guest a remembering stay and a dear wish to come back, which we will ! The rooms are beautiful and in such a nice style and all you need (and more) is there/available. Thanks a lot for the stay….we enjoyed it so much and see you back soon.
