About the IJskuip
Op Erve Kuiper zijn we constant bezig met duurzaamheid. Zo maken we gebruik van zonnepanelen en stoken we op pallets. Door innovatieve en creatieve oplossingen zijn we grotendeels zelfvoorzienend. En daar zijn we trots op!
Mestvergister
Wist je dat je energie kunt halen uit koeienpoep? Op Erve Kuiper doen we dat al! Boer Erik bouwde namelijk met een paar buur-boeren een mestvergister. Dit inventieve apparaat wordt verwarmd door een houtsnipperskachel en zet de mest van onze koeien om in gas. Zo wekken we duurzame energie op én verlagen we de uitstoot van CO2. Slim en groen!
Bloeistroken
Voor het maaien, zaaien en oogsten van akkers en weilanden worden er vaak grote machines gebruikt. Dieren kunnen hier het dupe van zijn. Een hertenkalf zoekt vaak een plekje in het hoge gras en is daardoor niet zichtbaar. Maar ook insecten, zoals bijen en andere bestuivers, hebben bloemen nodig om te overleven. Daarom leggen wij bloeistroken aan in ons weiland. Deze stroken met verschillende soorten bloemen zijn er puur voor de dieren. Zo hebben ze een veilige plek om te liggen en worden ze met rust gelaten door mensen en machines.
Fietsoplaadpunt
Op ons erf vind je een fiets oplaadpunt. Je ruikt, ziet en proeft de natuur immers veel beter op de fiets dan in de auto!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here with my kids for the first time today. Tried five different flavors ice cream among which the one with which they won the first price. Must honestly admit none of all flavors were really impressive. Take Van der Poel or the Rosahoeve farm in Raalte and you experience an explosion of flavors in your mouth. Having said that the place is wonderful for kids. Great free outdoor playing facilities and one indoor inflatable playground. Awesome place to stop while in the area with kids, even if the ice cream is not at all that impressive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We drove 2 hours to try 'Europe' s best ice cream'. All the other flavors are lovely, but the kuyper winning ice cream flavor is horrible!! Just horrible!! Has a disgusting aftertaste as if there's goat milk in it. The salon and the adjacent farm are a wonderful spot though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great ice cream, especially the award winning ice cream. However, they should improve living conditions for the pigs and cows that live around the corner. They don't have much space, walk around in their own poo and have heat stress when it's hot outside. You should provide better ventilation and shelter for those animals and clean their places once in a while.
