The automatic flush and the fully automatic door worked well though.
Didn't smell either.
Big plus that it's free!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Public toilets on the side of the binnenrotte. Very conveniently located on the blaak square next to the Saturday and Tuesday market. It is a self cleaning facility so not as nasty as most public toilets. This facility is unisex and wheelchair accessible. Best of it is that unlike many other toilet facilities in Rotterdam this one is actually free.
