About Tilburg University
Our mission: Understanding Society
Tilburg University’s goal is to actively contribute to society. We want to serve society and make it a better place for all citizens. Our university has always actively promoted ways to firmly embed our education and research in society.
Our mission of Understanding Society is based on the Christian and humanist traditions in which we have our roots. Important basic principles are sustainability and diversity in the context of corporate social responsibility. We are committed to a society based on these values to which we give shape jointly with citizens and social organizations, government and business.
We also apply this joint approach in our own working environment. We regularly organize symposia and conferences in which debate plays a central role. Here we exchange knowledge, share perspectives, ask each other questions, and challenge one another.
In the book Met het oog op goed leven you can read more about the culture and heritage of Martinus Cobbenhagen, one of our founders.

β β β β β I want to put 0 stars. Really bad place for international students, a lot of discrimination. If you are not from the NL, just don't go,please save your nerves and money for another place. International students are mainly homeless because the landlords prefer "only Dutch", the Dutch students don't interact with international students, its a really sad place to be?

β β β β β Internationals are treated worse than rats in here, at least rats have place to live. Student office takes 3-4 days to reply to a simple request. Before the start of pre-master, it was promised that the lectures will be on campus, which in reality, there were only couple of lectures there. Lectures are pre-recorded, most of them are reused from last year. Overall, unorganized, waste of time with a lot of fake people smiling to your face while in their head they really don't want you there. Compared to my bachelors experience, Tilburg university deserves no stars.

β β β β β I did my Bachelor's here, excellent program and lectureres. Many opportunities (research internships, studying abroad). Great lunch deals in c-building. And beautiful forest.

β β β β β University offered both online and offline studying of master's program, but in reality it was completely online with a couple of lectures in hybrid way after one month of the beginning. It's not clear why uni can't tell it honestly and make you come and be homeless because city has shortage of houses and both landlords and dutch students prefer only dutch.
