Na afloop,bij de nazit,werd Ria zo veelvuldig betrokken in de verhalen van Jaap, dat wij opmerkten:"Wij wille ok wel ris kennis make met dy frou en..... Ria kwam en zag glimlachend naar die ouwe schaatsgekken, voelde zich meteen thuis in het bonte gezelschap, zelfs zo,dat wij na afloop tegen elkaar zeiden:" Jaap het it mar troffen met sun frou!".Later,de "redens"van Jaap hingen toen al aan de wilgen,dronk Jaap met ons af en toe nog een bakje,en wisten we ,dat het met Ria niet goed ging,maar schrokken toch van haar overlijden.
