Dean is a menace to the local housing market, truly not a man of the people.

One of the oldest Universities in Netherlands. I visited the campus to attend a seminar. It's huge. The parking lot hard to find for an outsider. Still the atmosphere here is very charming.

Good university for sciences and humanity studies! Tge largest in the nothern provinces of the Netherlands. Different faculties are spread out over the city. The main academic building has a stunning architecture located in 5he city center. It has beautiful, ornate halls that are used PhD thesis defences and special lectures. The place is buzzing with students.

The way the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen deals with the students in the pandemic is extremely disappointing, arrogant from above like in the old days 100 years ago, and often arbitrary and disorganized. I cannot recommend this university, especially for foreign students. A bitter taste remains. The main thing seems to be that the tuition fees flow ...

If you want to study at a university that actively works against its students and their futures this is the place to be. Lectures are only given online and recordings of said lectures are not made available as rewatching lectures at double speed is not the way you should learn according to the staff. It actively discourages finding your own way of learning and testing yourself to improve in personal and professional development/leadership. The focus is clear. It's all about the tuition fees, instead of helping to build a future for those paying. Edit after reply: I want to extend my apologies. I failed to follow Hanlon's Razor and assumed Malice, which of course could also just be incompetence. Whether this assumption is more desirable I leave up to you. This does not change the fact that the attempts made at improving or even maintaining the quality of education are lackluster at best. Stories from other universities show that it is possible to have offline lectures with good scheduling, or better quality online education. Why this is not the case at the University of Groningen is beyond me. The issue regarding the recording of lectures is still very much prevalent. After student uproar the recordings are now made and are available again but are taken down after 24 hours. I see this as a sad attempt to fix an issue that should not exist, students should be able to decide how they want to learn and the lectures should not be actively taken down. In the end my views have sadly only been reinforced, yet I try to stay hopeful to see organisational changes. But for now I can't reccomend going here to study
