Tankstation Keulsepoort is het oudste tankstation van Nederland en dateert uit 1933. Het werd gebouwd als Servicestation voor The American Petroleum Company.
De bouw was indertijd revolutionair en hypermodern te noemen. Het is een voorbeeld van het Nieuwe Bouwen uit de tijd tussen 1920 en 1940 en herinnerd aan Amerikaanse roadmovies.
Het tankstation speelde voor Venlo een hoofdrol in de Rally van Monte Carlo vóór 1940, toen daar een tussenstop was.
Vanaf juni 2021 heeft Ijsco Fantastico er een horeca locatie geopend.
Cologne gas station
Keulsepoort gas station is the oldest gas station in the Netherlands and dates back to 1933. It was built as a service station for The American Petroleum Company.
The construction was revolutionary and ultramodern at the time. It is an example of the New Building from the time between 1920 and 1940 and is reminiscent of American road movies.
The gas station played a leading role for Venlo in the Monte Carlo Rally before 1940, when there was a stopover there.
From June 2021, Ijsco Fantastico has opened a catering location there.
