β β β β β Studios themselves are great, comfy and very well equipped. The neighborhood however not so much; constant noise from the construction site right across the street, an industrial feeling from the train crossing nearby, and the entrance lot is constantly occupied by weird groups of people making noise and loitering excessively. The price is also somewhat expensive; it would be justifiable if the neighborhood wasn't as bad.
edit:
Had to remove yet another star after recent events. Communication and customer support are extremely problematic; I have asked for a replacement of a malfunctioning piece of electronic equipment, and the back and forth has lasted for a full 40 days now. During this time, they keep making appointments and then canceling them with a different excuse each time (that is, in the rare occasion they do give an excuse). What's worse is that apparently my room has been entered by the caretaker, despite me explicitly stating that I do not consent. Given these experiences, among others, I'm starting to believe that this place is unsuitable for longer stays.

β β β β β I have been living there for a bit more than a year and I am quite pleased overal. The studios are nice and well equipped! They usually respond fast in case you have any questions or need something for your studio. Itβs very close to the city center, the central station and to the supermarkets. Itβs a bit expensive but... itβs Utrecht! You just need to be very fast when you try to reserve a studio because the website tends to be very busy!

β β β β β Very nice and comfortable studio! It has everything one needs to settle in. Reasonable price once you have a housing allowance approved.
For the moment it's a bit noisy outside the building because of the works at Nijenoord 1. But I'm sure once that's done it will be nice and peaceful.

β β β β β Overall I rate Nijenoord quite positive. Based on my experience, what you get for what you pay compared to the general dutch housing market is very good, specially in a city like Utrecht.
The positive: The building is nice, rooms are comfortable and the one I rent has just the perfect size and I like it. Never had issues with noise.
The building is fairly new, and the staff has always been friendly and professional (which is like fresh air in this country where landlords are quite hideous and abusive). The location of the building is good, you have a bus stop just in front of the building and by bike you will be in the city center in about 10 minutes.
The not that positive: Some tenants have poor education, so they will leave garbage at the entrance. The building has a parking lot in front of it, therefore, some fellas find it the best place to party, drink, smuggle drugs, etc. After the weekends it really looks messy with all the trash.
Finally, after spending quite some time trying to find a nice place to stay in Utrecht, and based as well, on my friend's feedback about Nijenoord. I can say that it is a really good place to live.

β β β β β Typical case of extortion. Selling lofts that look good but in reality are not. They work with a certain provider for internet and TV, meaning you need a certain TV to actually be able to watch something. The internet starts to get really, really slow in the evenings.
At the Philips bedrijfsschool in Eindhoven they have just decided to also close down the rooftop terrace in the evenings. Yet you still have to pay for this service. In total the service fees are over β¬100 euro's. Electricity bill is included in this, due to that there is no way for you to find out what your usage is. There is no bill available to check if everything is going according to plan.
Also they blame the residents for putting the temperature up to 35 celcius, telling them that that is the reason they don't get anything back at the end of the year, however this is not true. With the heating turned off the apartments are very, Very hot during the summer days. I have lived here for about half a year now, I haven't turned the heater up once, yet it is still atleast 25 degrees atleast inside, everyday. However neighbour's who live on the side where the sun is 90% of the day, their temperatures gone up to an average of 35 degrees.
Customer service response is really good, however the service itself is useless. I have made a report of damaged goods from day 1, none of them have been repaired. The buildings elevators are just a big hazard themselfs, and one of the outside doors doesn't even open.
Next to this, if you have a car you cannot get a permit to park your car anywhere near the building anymore since it's fully booked already. However if you do get a permit the costs are twice as high as what you pay for when you ask for one at gemeente Eindhoven. β¬35 per car, per month.
The appliances that come with the loft are also the cheapest ones available. This is really noticeable when cooking or doing the dishes. Dishes not coming out clean, the stove not functioning well, easily gets damaged etc.
Currently pay β¬925 p/m for a ~42m2 loft. This excludes a β¬1000 deposit before you move in.
By FAR the most overpriced loft you can find.
They make it look good by their marketing and photo's, but in reality once you have moved in, you find out there's countless things wrong with it. Yet you are stuck with it, they even asked me if I have tried to fix their stuff first before they send in an mechanic.
Now to top things off:
If you are a Dutch citizen, and you work for your money, you have to pay full price.
However they have cut a deal with the government where if you have no income, or almost none you can live there for free, or pay a maximum of 600 rent per month. This is for a 70m2 loft aswell.
And ofcourse it just happens to turn out that exactly that group of people are also the ones that cause the discomfort. Making a lot of noise, general rudeness, smoking cigarettes and weed outside their windows etc.
This while the whole building is smoke free.
After multiple reports to H2S they just refuse to do anything about this.

β β β β β I live here for over a year. It is the second time that my package gets lost at the entrance door. This time the package was so much expensive and despite having the survilance cameras when I ask they always simply ignore it and do not check the videos or at least puting a note in the entrance for others to be careful. There is clearly something wrong here since I heard the same story from another person but clearly the staff do not care and do not investigate because simply they do not care whether we have a safe living environment here or not.

β β β β β Unprofessionals that only want to milk the tenants. That is what I have seen from them. Severe leakage in my house every time it rains and they have not fixed it until now! 3 weeks no answer and of course nobody replies in the tickets and the emergency line.
