★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanneer je bij dit vakgemaal ofwel poldergemaal staat, begrijp je direct hoe belangrijk dergelijke gemalen zijn om droge voeten te houden in ons lage land. Wanneer je op de N.A.P. maat aanduiding naast het gemaal kijkt dan zie je dat de nulmaat boven je hoofd ligt en dat het waterpijl aan de lage zijde op - 5,70 m ligt. Dan besef je wel dat Rijnland met dit gemaal hier belangrijk werk doet. Het is ook wel mooi dat het gebouw mooi transparant is door het gebruik van veel glas. De werking van het gemaal wordt voor de toeschouwer daardoor direct zichtbaar.
