Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht - Winthontlaan 4

Very fancy yet affordable 4.5 star hotel. Amazing facilities that can compete with some 5 star hotels.

Great hotel... but requiring a service-fee of €9.50, on top of the already expensive hotel-prices, to serve drinks to the room is outrages

Beautiful hotel with an open and easy layout, many event rooms, a comfy restaurant, friendly staff for the most part, really great infrastructure.

Nice dinner location. Looks nice, the food was nice, people were polite. They even gave some colouring pencils, dough and little Barbie toys to the two girls.

Really nice and big hotel room, a big and delicious breakfast buffet, very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant's service and quality of the food is outstanding. I will most definitely come back!

We love staying at the Van der Valk hotels, however Utrecht was one of the lesser. Staff at reception Friendly. Staff at breakfast reception was awfull. Breakfast was cold ( Bacon, mushrooms) for what u pay, not worth it.Our room lovely, however Bathroom was not very clean, could not even see myself in the mirror...

Had a great stay here with my wife, we had a luxury room that comes with a separate toilet. Vd. Valk in general is to my opinion on a next level in terms of experience overall. The rooms are spacious, modern, clean and fitted with everything you need. The breakfast buffet is also above any other "chain" hotel/restaurants. the choices are quality and broad, you can get freshly made baked eggs, omelette with whatever you want on/in, good coffee, good atmosphere in the restaurant and everything. I ate at different vd. Valk restaurants for dinner and their food is quality, always, especially the meat. For those who don't know, they started as a butcher near Leiden actually so it is to be expected. The stay here was good, points of attention though: - My wife and I were in our room relaxing, someone tried to open the door with some violence, probably not something the hotel can do anything about but still weird. - The toilet and bathroom don't lock, bit weird, no problem for me and my wife but still odd. - As it was Valentine's weekend, there was an option to book a surprise pack, which I did, only thing is, they "forgot" (while still paying 35,- for it), ultimately, I had to sneak out to the reception (which was a bit understaffed) and discussed they would "fix" it while my wife and I were out for dinner, the first response however from the receptionist was "denial" and he said that he could see in his system that the surprise was put in place, well, I am not waiting in line for 10 mins if that was the case.. From a CS perspective, this is not a good first reaction. They did come around and rectify it but it is a bit sloppy, not something I expect when I go to vd. Valk. All in all, good stay, with some points of improvement.

Nice place for an hour of work. Enjoyed a lovely mushroom soup, very quick service. The rest of the menu seemed interesting as well.
