About Vapiano
OUR JOURNEY
Vapiano begon in 2002 in Hamburg, Duitsland. In Nederland opende het eerste restaurant in 2007, in Den Haag, met echt iets anders. Een jaar lang kwamen gasten uit heel Nederland naar Den Haag om kennis te maken met het bijzondere concept. Het eerste restaurant in Nederland waar besteld werd met een pasje, het eten direct voor je klaar gemaakt werd en je achteraf afrekent. Handgemaakte verse pasta wordt voor je neus gekookt, precies zoals jij het lekker vindt. Extra peper? Zeker wel. Geen knoflook? Geen probleem. Hou je niet van champignons? We laten ze weg.
Personalisatie was de sleutel en vandaag de dag is dat relevanter dan ooit.
Inmiddels zijn er 10 restaurants in Nederland. Het laatste restaurant is de zomer van 2021 geopend in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam. Daarnaast is het pasjes systeem ingewisseld voor bestelling vanaf je tafel waar het eten lekker naar je toe wordt gebracht.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good quality food for very decent prices. Nothing to complain about this. But simply the atmosphere is not so nice, same for the fact you have to que to get your dinner. If you are eating with a big group, they cannot simply prepare everything the same time. Disadvantage in my opinion. Buy the food is good!

They give you a card, and there are different stations you can stand at: pizza vs pasta. You place your card on the scanner as they make your pasta fresh right in front of you. (Each card is scanned according to order and when you leave, you pay.)
The taste is absolutely delicious and full of depth. I like the thai peppers, garlic, white wine that was offered with my carbonara pasta, which may not be to your liking.
We had the risotto fungi, carbo-fungi, and carbo pasta. My mom had the tiramisu and there was nothing left!
Safe to say 10/10.
I like the atmosphere. Some people might not like standing in line to order your food and then finding a seat, but we went on a slow Monday at 7:30 PM and found the wait time okay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered two tomato soup and two different pastas, which are bolognese and a pasta with prawn and meat ( i could not remember the name ). Long story to short, all of them are good. Soups are bigger what we expect and really tasty. Both pasta have different type of sauce and both of them are really good.
The meat was cooked very good. And it was tasty, I didn’t expect that taste since I watched while the guy was doing it. That means the meat quality is really good.
This place is located in the city center, close to bars and pubs, really good location.
The restaurant has two floor. I sit in the entrance where is right across to the kitchen which is not nice, since all the smell and the crowds are right next to you. I would strongly advise to go upstairs.
All the staff is nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday was my first time, and they did not disappoint. And I'm impressed that even during carnaval they were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks amazing, and so did the food. And most importantly: I loved every bite.
I went with a spicy pasta bolognese, and certainly feel no regrets of my choice.
Also, little personal thing: One of the staff member used a bit of sarcasm (in a playful way). For me, staff that can throw in a bit of humour is always greatly appreciated, and is one surefire way to earn bonus points. Would've given this place 6 stars, shame I can't.

Oh, and we visited the Eindhoven branch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The host that welcomed us in was amazing, made sure that we were comfortable and liked the food. The food is nice, can be made vegan, which is great! Had to wait for some time to get seated, the place is very popular with both locals and tourists alike. Would come back!

They messed up my order. I had to wait 25 minutes after my partner’s food came in order to get my pasta. The problem was that they sent my food to another table. Also they have 2 kitchens: one for pizza and another one for pasta.
