β β β β β Lots to do, but quite pricey. Also beware that they don't accept visa cards only master card. Had to make a trip to the cashpoint.

β β β β β Interesting for adults and children alike. The volunteer re-enacters on the "Compascuumer" days made it even more entertaining.

β β β β β Beautiful and very interesting place to see and learn what happen in the past with this famous Veen and how the history describes it and evidence it with the most lovely and sweet way with Red books, two treins and more & more. The crew so helpful! Everybody should go! ?β₯οΈ?

β β β β β A historical park full of the last 130 years of the lives of ordinary Drents. The park has a huge surface, two small railways and a boat transport. Couple of playgrounds, lots of free space. Some animals and several houses and huts of the peat workers. Three different exhibition halls, one of them with children's activities on some days per week. The story told around the houses is in Dutch, but probably a translation is available at the shop. There is a bakery, cafe, self service restaurant, museum shop, sweets shop, old school, church and several examples of handicraftsman's houses. The museum was extremely quiet when we visited, which was nice because we could take our time and spend the whole day around the park, walk, talk, picknick and enjoy the landscape. No electronic toys or equipment, which was excellent.

β β β β β It seems like they don't have a lot of employees. But the people who do work there did an amazing job. So enthusiastic and interested in what they do and it makes the experience unforgettable.
