★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A statue with an interesting history. As it was placed by a team of artists in the park without permission it was removed by the municipality. The team then petitioned the authorities to return the statue. In a public referendum the majority of voters voted in favour of placing the statue in the park, so the necessary permits were granted and it was officially revealed and adopted by Leiden. However, 2 years later it was vandalised. The cut off head was found a few weeks later. In stead of just putting it back in place the team decided to put the head sideways, to underline it's history of controversy.
