About Vlot Grand Café
Het unieke en creatieve gebouw is geinspireerd op de Steilsteven boot. Dit geheel glazen vaartuig omringd door terrassen en aanlegsteigers zorgt voor een wijds uitzicht over het Galgewater, Molen De Put en de grachten van Leiden.
Met een gemoedelijke sfeer, streven we naar een huiskamergevoel op een schip. Even bijkletsen, ontbijten, lunchen, borrelen of dineren, het kan bij Vlot Grand Café.
Geschiedenis Vlot
De boot van Vlot Grand Café is handgemaakt door twee creatievelingen. Hij bestaat al ruim 30 jaar. De metalen randen zijn bijvoorbeeld gemaakt van komkommerkassen. Zoals op onderstaande foto’s is te zien, heeft de boot een reis over het water gemaakt om de stad in te komen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not quite happy. Service took long, took 1H for the food to arrive, and I’m going back home now an hour later still hungry. I hope they just had a bad day! The place itself was nice and the staff was friendly enough.
Edit: saw the reply by the owner. I understand if you're understaffed, but maybe next time let me know so that we know we will have to wait a little longer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The cafe itself sits nicely on the waters of Leiden. Perfect outdoor setting if the weather is beautiful. Had to settle for indoor seating as it was pretty windy outside despite the summer season. It was a bit hot indoor as the building is made of glass.
Does not have a big food selection but leans more towards small bites and a good cake selection. Ordered a few plates of snacks.
Drinks menu are pretty extensive.
If you are in the area, drop by for drinks. Good ambience and a chill place to hang out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eat here on Monday lunchtime as a birthday treat. Really tasty lunch (see photo), quick service and a very very attentive waitress - sometimes a little too quick to clear everything so wasn't quite as relaxing as we wanted but still spent a very nice time here.
