★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Het postkantoor is gebouwd rond 1905 naar ontwerp van rijksbouwmeester C.H. Peters te 's Gravenhage. Het betreft een min of meer standaardontwerp, zoals dat ook uitgevoerd is in bijv. Emmen en Nieuw-Amsterdam. Het ontwerp is in de voor dit gebouwtype gebruikelijke stijl, de zgn. "postkantoorgotiek" ofwel neo-Hollandse Renaissance stijl met gotische en chalet-stijl kenmerken. De dakruiter die bij dit ontwerp hoorde en een kenmerkend onderdeel is van de grotere postkantoren van Peters, is hier verwijderd. Info.: Rijksmonumenten.nl
 The post office was built around 1905 to a design by Government Architect C.H. Peters in The Hague. It concerns a more or less standard design, as was also carried out in, for example, Emmen and Nieuw-Amsterdam. The design is in the usual style for this type of building, the so-called "Post Office Gothic" or neo-Dutch Renaissance style with Gothic and chalet-style features.
