★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice & cheap restaurant. Nice, polite family that will always treat you with respect. Considerable knowledge of the Chinese and Indonesian / Surinam kitchen. Must confess: some doubts about food safety though. Have been extremely sick, probably food poisoned once. The interior definitely needs a SERIOUS upgrade, though. Staff sure know how to improvise...avoid visiting the take away section on Sunday evenings around 6 PM..the entire Hoograven population seems to be on the hunt for Wan Soen food then..(just kidding ;-))

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2016: was back in town so went back for dinner and was not disappointed. Still a small, but friendly place to go and very good food. Already looking forward to my next trip to Utrecht.
2015: Simple, no fuss place with great food. Really glad I got out of my hotel and drove here. Yummy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved their dishes. Ordered a shrimp dish that costed 15.5€ , a complete value for money. couldn't finish, and had to pack to take home(but food so good). The dessert -ijs wan soen is simple amazing. Friendly staff, very kind. restaurant is spacious and not crowded/busy, looked like most of the demand was for take aways than eat in. The service was also very good. Not many options for drinking though. I would definitely recommend going here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered 2 vegetarian dishes from this restaurant. One of them came with meat (pork). Unacceptable!!
Plus the rest of the food was tasteless. The fried rice with veggies didn't have any veggies? Only egg...
If they don't know how to make vegetarian then they shouldn't include it in their menu. I was disgusted and upset
