★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible! The food was so bad. I had the nasi chicken sate, it was like they had cooked the rice and added some nasi herbs to the rice afterwards. And the chicken meat was smelly too. I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. I had take-away so I had to wait at the restaurant and I smelled so bad atter I left the place. I had to wash everything I was wearing including my winter coat, myself. I don't think they have a good ventilation system, it was horrible. I'll never set a foot at that place again. If I could give minus stars I would.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I come here I usually order some saoto soup as starters with baka banana and as a main the Spang Makandra special with a Dawet or a Markoesa juice. The food is tasty and it is always busy which says something. A small downside is that your clothes will start to smell when you eat inside the restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to admit that the decor is a bit old. Also I have tried the same restaurant in Amsterdam Central (or Zuid I don't remember) with the exact same menu, and the food there is definitely better than here.
But for what it costs, the food here is still damn good. I love the satay sauce, with a thick and strong nutty favour. The staff are nice too.
I really hope they do some renovation, because the food here should attract more customers than they have now.
