It has become so beautiful at the watermill, it has been closed for a long time but now it is beautiful.

Watermill Vierlingsbeek There was already a water wheel mill in Vierlingsbeek in 1446. It was renewed in 1531, 1672 and 1724. The mill mainly served for grinding grain in the periods when there was not enough wind for the windmills. The Kaanen family has owned the mill since 1845. Around 1930, he had an engine engine added. The retreating German troops destroyed the monumental mill house during the battle of Overloon in September-October 1944. Fortunately, the old paddle wheel and a large millstone were preserved. The paddle wheel was restored in 1970 and has a diameter of 5.10 meters. The watermill is freely accessible.

Looks a bit run down. Yet it does turn every now and then. The environment is worthwhile and there is a narrow path to the Maas.

Prachtige locatie, super mooi gerestaureerd. Misschien iets te veel informatieborden verspreid.
Beautiful location, beautifully restored. Maybe a little too many information boards scattered around.

Restored early-20th century water mill with a rich history. There has been a water mill at that site for centuries. The site is easy accessible and offers several information panels on the history of the mill. The mill is in working order and can often be seen turning its large wheel driven by the flow of the Molenbeek.
