Beautiful mill of 600 years old. You drive past it and then you really miss something. Incredibly beautiful to view from the inside

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Verscholen achter een bosje op het erf van eenboerderij en met alleen het dak boven het maaiveld is watermolen De Mast niet gemakkelijk vindbaar.Alleen wie van Vasse naar Ootmarsum fietst of wandelt kan de molen haast niet ontgaan, al was het alleen al vanwege de bijzondere schoonheid en ligging. Bovendien is de molen altijd voor publiek toegankelijk.Af en toe draait hij zelfs. Samen met het nabijgelegen 'bakhoes' is watermolen De Mast een van de drie cultuurhistorische pronkjuwelen van de gemeente Tubbergen. Net als de veel bekendere molens van Bels en Frans heeft watermolen De Mast aan de basis gestaan van de papierindustrie in Nederland.
Hidden behind a grove in the yard of a farm and with only the roof above ground level, the De Mast watermill is not easy to find. Only those who cycle or walk from Vasse to Ootmarsum can hardly miss the mill, if only because of its special beauty and location. Moreover, the mill is always open to the public, and it even runs from time to time. Together with the nearby 'bakhoes', watermill De Mast is one of the three cultural-historical gems of the municipality of Tubbergen. Just like the much better-known mills of Bels and Frans, the De Mast watermill was at the base of the paper industry in the Netherlands.

Toevallig ligt hier ook een geocache zeker wel een aanrader om een kijkje te nemen.

Nice place, but a bit sparsely marked. It has more to do with info board or something.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De watermolen de Mast in Vasse bestaat al sinds 1433 en werd gebruik als koren- en oliemolen. In 1942 zijn de molen en het bijbehorende bakhuisje gerestaureerd en zien er weer prachtig uit. Fijn dat dit stukje historie nog bezocht kan worden. Wel goed opletten, want je rijdt er zo voorbij (en dat zou zonde zijn)!
The water mill De Mast in Vasse has existed since 1433 and was used as a grain and oil mill. In 1942 the mill and the accompanying bakery were restored and look beautiful again. It's great that this piece of history can still be visited. Be careful, because you will pass it in no time (and that would be a shame)!
