About Wevershuis

De rijke collectie van het Zaans Museum onthult Zaanse verhalen; de bewoners, hun leven en werken, de vele innovaties en het industrieel erfgoed.

De collectie komt voort uit de tentoonstelling Zaanlandsche oudheden en merkwaardigheden die in 1874 plaatsvond in het toenmalige stadhuis van Zaandam en resulteerde in de oprichting van de oudheidkamer van Zaandijk. In 1998 verhuisde deze collectie als bruikleen naar het toen gebouwde Zaans Museum. Daarnaast startte het Zaans Museum met het aanleggen van een eigen collectie.

Het Zaans Museum verzamelt objecten uit en over de Zaanstreek van de 17de eeuw tot vandaag de dag. In de collectie bevinden zich ruim 32.000 voorwerpen.

В первую очередь музейные экспозиции представляют деревянное зодчество (мельницы, дома и пр.). Много музеев, сувенирных лавок, кафе. Наряду с перечисленным имеется 7 мастерских народных ремесел, одна из которых -Wever Shuis. Это ткаческая мастерская. Здесь пару работниц в традиционных костюмах показывают: в каких условиях работали ткачихи; применяемые техники; используемые инструменты и пр. Это мастерская была действующей вплоть до начала 20 века, когда семьи занимались выделкой тканей и парусины на дому. Позднее их труд сменился машинным производством материалов. Мастерская открыта круглый год, без выходных, с 10 до 17 часов, взод 2€. Zaanse-Schans is an open-air museum (folklore village), which is dedicated to the life of the Dutch village of the XVII-XVIII centuries. First of all museum exhibits represent wooden architecture (mills, houses, etc.). Many museums, souvenir shops, cafes. Along with the listed there are 7 workshops of folk crafts, one of which is "Wever Shuis". This is a weaving workshop. Here, a pair of female workers in traditional costumes show: under what conditions weavers worked; applied techniques; used tools, etc. This workshop was in operation until the beginning of the 20th century, when families were engaged in dressing fabrics and canvas at home. Later, their work was replaced by machine production of materials. The workshop is open all year round, without days off, from 10 to 17 hours, 2 €.

Een groep enthousiaste vrijwilligers hebben drie antieke weefgetouwen in ere hersteld, om zo dit mooie ambacht te tonen en te laten ervaren. Petje af voor deze groep! How nice that the Wevershuis has found a place on the Zaanse Schans. A group of enthusiastic volunteers have restored three antique looms to show and experience this beautiful craft. Hats off to this group!

De vrijwilliger heeft ons een leuk verhaal verteld over het verleden van het wevershuis. Nadat we zijn rondgelopen door dit huis kwamen we uit bij de weefgetouwen. Hier heeft de vrijwilliger een demonstratie geven over hoe vroeger de weefgetouwen werden gebruikt. Upon entering, we were enthusiastically received by one of the volunteers. The volunteer told us a nice story about the past of the weaver's house. After walking around this house we came across the looms. Here the volunteer gave a demonstration about how the looms were used in the past.
