Dat is wat eigenaren Maarten en Jill tegen elkaar zeiden toen de kans voorbij kwam om samen een eigen restaurant te openen. In onze keuken werken we met een authentieke Spaanse houtskooloven. Met de Josper ga je weer terug naar de basis: de eeuwenoude kooktechniek van bakken en braden boven open vuur. Voor Maarten en de koks is het toch een stiekeme jongensdroom om te mogen werken met de Josper.. “iedereen houdt van barbecueën, maar dit is wel het ultieme".
De houtskooloven vormt de rode draad van onze menukaart. De mediterrane bereiding van mooi vlees en vis wordt gecombineerd met verse groenten. Door de enorme hoge temperatuur van de oven wordt het vlees in een korte tijd gegrild. De kookkunsten zijn gemixt tussen klassiek en stoer, een tikkeltje eigenwijsheid, maar bovenal kwaliteit en met een oog voor detail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ‘ Well why actually not ? ‘ . That’s what I was thinking by entering this place with the same name . Surprisingly , there would be an answer to this question . First of all after spending 10 minutes in the men’s room you get an aggressive knock-knock from the handsome brunette young man , obviously one of the staff , in cooks dress , who is claiming for me to have left a mass the last time I was there , which his girlfriend supposed to be cleaning up ? Does this turn me on ? Well , good possible, but I just wanted to use the Bathroom ... I gave my ipad with ca. 25 percent to charge to the bar and received it unplugged with 31 percent charged , the very least 2 hours later . In time of eating , we were asked at least 4 times if we are finished eating, even though the plates were half empty and obviously, we are not in military here , but in restaurant , not to hurry ourselves. So , that’s why not ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoyed our meal here, they serve a small menu but all the dishes are incredibly tasty and freshly made. The staff was very kind as well.
The one thing that annoyed me was the waiting time. It was very busy (there was a group of 30 in the back) on a Wednesday and the restaurant was clearly understaffed. We had to wait 45 minutes for our starters (a salad and grilled bread) and another 30 minutes for our main dish. It really is a pity, because the food was lovely!
