Naast het standbeeld staat een plaquette met een beschrijving van de geschiedenis. Het standbeeld trekt vooral in het Toeristen seizoen veel kijkers en is ook opgenomen in de fiets- wandelroutes.
 Statue of the inventor of the herring jaws. Is centrally located on Markt van Biervliet near water pump which is still working. Next to the statue is a plaque with a description of the history. The statue attracts many viewers, especially in the Tourist season, and is also included in the cycling and hiking routes.
