★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was one of the weirdest experiences I've encountered. Visited during Saint Nicolas and got my first experience of Black Pete being everywhere.
It was one of the most racist things that I have seen in a society that isn't racist (by American standards). Lots of diversity amongst the people I encountered.
I had a good time, with food, drinks, good shopping deals (in my opinion), that for a period I didn't even remember the creepy racist dolls or figurines. Then I walked up to a shop window or walked inside and right there is Black Pete... I'll rather visit after St. Nicholas celebrations until the Dutch fix this tradition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great little place to spend a day out. City is full of activities, like shopping, eating and drinking in terraces, enjoying of life music and there more. From coffeeshops to churchs and hema to barret there are a lot to do in this place. Well connected with the camping areas, Winterswijk has an exquisite way of doing shopping.
Do not forget to pay your parking place, even taht there are a lot free parking areas in common to find an easy place near by the city center that requires a fee.
