Onze vereniging bestaat bijna 15 jaar en kent in feite haar historie in Amsterdam, die veel verder terug gaat in de tijd. Dat kun je allemaal teruglezen in de Introductie van deze site. Een vereniging of ook wel club genoemd kan bij nogal wat mensen een betekenis oproepen van ‘amateuristisch’, en dan helaas bedoeld in negatieve zin, zoiets als: vrijwilligers met hun hart op de goede plek, maar daar mag je geen kwaliteit van verwachten. Of dit een hardnekkig vooroordeel is en of gebaseerd op specifieke ervaringen kan ik niet goed beoordelen. Maar wat ik wel weet is dat onze club (en menige andere vereniging) staat voor hoog kwalitatief judo. Nogmaals: als u het geduld heeft onze website te lezen, dan kunt u zich hierover een beeld vormen. Maar, ik zou zeggen: ‘Kom eens bij ons kijken (mag altijd)’ of nog beter: doe mee! Want dan beleef je het judo spelletje pas echt en voel en weet je in welke sportcultuur je terecht bent gekomen. Dear readers, What a beautiful new website the Yu-Ai judo club has! Our association has existed for almost 15 years and in fact has its history in Amsterdam, which goes much further back in time. You can read all that in the Introduction of this site. An association or also called a club can evoke a meaning of "amateurish" for quite a few people, and unfortunately meant in a negative sense, something like: volunteers with their heart in the right place, but you should not expect quality from it. Whether this is a persistent prejudice and based on specific experiences, I cannot judge very well. But what I do know is that our club (and many other associations) stands for high quality judo. Again: if you have the patience to read our website, you can get an idea of this. But, I would say: "Come and have a look at us (always allowed)" or even better: join us! Because then you will really experience the judo game and feel and know in which sports culture you have ended up.
