★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The station itself is a bit of a walk from the main local attraction in Zaanse Schanes but it does its job well enough as a station. Lots of cycle spaces available, shelter and seating as well as step free access to and from the platforms. It does lack live train displays however.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ About ten minutes walking to the village. There is a map at the station so pretty easy to get there without google map.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 30 mins from Amsterdam Central Station .
Zaanse Schans is a neighborhood in the Dutch town of Zaandam, near Amsterdam. Historic windmills and distinctive green wooden houses were relocated here to recreate the look of an 18th/19th-century village. The Zaans Museum has regional costumes, model windmills and interactive exhibits on chocolate making. Artisan workshops demonstrate rare handicrafts such as wooden clog carving, barrel making and pewter casting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Windmills!!!
Not far from Amsterdam central, easy ride. A walkable distance to the windmills from the station. What will you see :
1. Windmills
2. Movable Bridge
3. Traditional dutch cheese making
4. Clogs - workshop and sales
A beautiful sight to see the windmills running. We also got lucky to see the movable bridge opening up to make a way for the ongoing boat. There is also a place where you will get to see how the cheese is made. The staff are very polite and you can taste anything before you buy. And CLOGS! the only place where you see how clogs are made and the history of clogs. We got a chance to see how the clogs are made Live! Lucky Again!
