★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forget proper laps: the water is too warm and there’s only one freestyle lane (and usually with slow swimmers with no swimming etiquette)... The rest of the pool is very chaotic and busy... But it’s clean and super nice, frequented by a mixed gezellig local crowd... Ideal for a very chilled swim with patience :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like the Zuiderbad, wonderful pool, but during corona times I don't really feel comfortable. Only the middle pool was available last week and there was no swimming direction indicated, so I had to 'zigzag' in between the other swimmers.
Also a part of the showers are out of order now/not being used, so if you want to keep distance you have to wait until other people are finished.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the best public pool in Amsterdam, and my go-to place for a late night swim (open until 22:00 on most days). Entrance fee is €3,75 or cheaper for card holders.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since the further relaxing of the Corona rules and as more people are allowed in, use of this pool has become impossible. The makeshift and overcrowded lanes have no order, and you'll find everything from 80 yr olds attempting back stroke in the 'fast lane', to ladies out for a chat rather than a swim.
Avoid if you want a decent swim.
To top it all, the cabins are filthy thick with dust... I guess no Corona deep clean has happened for a while.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wednesday evening, way too crowded unfortunately. And a few guys guys kept on doing pull ups from the diving board, blocking 2 lanes out of 4. None of the instructors cared to do anything about it. A lot of much better option 10 mins away from here by metro.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful building and great location next to Rijksmuseum.
The lane is a bit short - 20 meters and it can get quite busy. Not too many lanes for lap swimming comparing to other swimming pool as the middle part ( 2-3 lanes space) is for more leisure swimming.
Also checked the time for lap swimming as the pool are quite busy with other activities as well. ( kids lesson / aqua lesson , etc )
They also have a wellness area with whirlpool and sauna. You need to buy a separate coin at the entrance to use it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like the aesthetics of this pool. You feel the history and enjoy the design. I love the bathing kamers to change along the sides. If you are a serious swimmer you will miss on one end there is no wall to push off, so it is definitely a place for more casual swimming.
