★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been a ABN customer for an year now. I am very happy with the service provided, with agile solution to issues and polite staff. It also helps a lot that everyone speaks good English, so I would definitely recommend for expats.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really poor customer service from this bank in general. They seem to think that offering coffee is good customer experience, what a bad joke. This is a prime example of service design failure, when you cannot deliver on your core proposition but can offer clients coffee. Rather go with another bank if you have the choice ABN AMRO is terrible and does not know the basics of customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Concierge staff greet you on arrival and to direct you to the best person to help you. Can do general banking there. Has a deposit machine to sort all those coins you might have laying around. Has expat help here too with English speaking staff for foreigners living in Holland to help you with you banking needs. No currency exchange available at this location, which I find somewhat odd for a bank. No one anywhere in Holland seems to want to take or exchange Bahrain Dinars. Exchange them in the Middle East before you leave.

Everything is a pain with them.
I have a recurring transfer which i need to cancel.
I’ve called them on the phone, they told me i had to come in person.
I come in person and the lady that greets me tells me to sit at the computer and do it myself. Hello? You think i came all the way here for this?
I had to sit and wait for 20m to get someone to help me, although the woman kept telling me it’s so easy, you could do it yourself... but won’t tell me how.
We sit down and turns out the transaction is not there... and the lady tells me they could have told me on the phone... nice.
I am opening an account with ING and closing down the one i have here. It’s just ridiculous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely no communication between bank personal and online (phone) support team. I've been waiting for 20 minutes on the phone to make an appointment to identify myself. By phone I was told that I can come to the any bank branch without an appointment for my business (to only show my id).
When I arrived to the bank, I was told that they only work by appointment. Frustrating experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Out of all the countries I have visited this bank wins the prize for being the worst in terms of professionalism.
I have arrvied recently as an international student and attempted to open a student account where the website imposes a condition to provide a BSN within 6 weeks.
After plenty of calls to bank, forms filling and taking an appointment, all the effort was for nothing upon arrival to bank where they denied the existance of that BSN information. They stated that it is not possible to open an account.
Upon asking for a manager to raise the concern, the agent arrogantly stated that there are no branch manager and that she is her own boss. I'm utterly disappointed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As newly arrived immigrants, I went there to open my bank account. We were a bit apprehensive after seeing the poor reviews but our Expat consultant recommended highly so we went ahead with ABN Amro. And I must say the experience was completely opposite of the poor reviews. The bank personnel were very helpful. They explained the process, helped with submitting the application, the features/ charges etc. The entire process took about 45 minutes and we received an email for account activation the very next day. Would strongly recommend ABN Amro to other expats.
