β β β β β Brand new Albert Heijn in Overtoom near Leidseplein. This used to be the Marqt (which was empty most of the time). Now that jumbo bought marqt, I imagine this store was too closer to both. Great option for AH. It is designed for Covid-times with the separate entrance and exit. As a matter of fact, I am going to walk here rather than the hectic superspreader AH on Bilderdijkstraat.
Itβs very clean and well lighted. I imagine most donβt know about it yet or itβs just not a busy area. Most people will go to to the AH near Stach in overtoom since itβs been there forever.
I would guess once tourists return, this will be very popular. I canβt wait for tourists to return!
Anyway, a good store. Huge and modern. Plenty of space to roam.

β β β β β Wow! Such a clean and well laid out ah! Felt very organised and much cleaner than the ah on bilderdijkstraat/Overtoom corner. I was wondering what it would look like after Marqt left, but honestly this ah is nicer than what the old Marqt was.

β β β β β They don't accept visa/Mastercard banking cards. I own 2 debit cards. So, good place for only dutch people in the center of Amsterdam. Good banking system in a country who decided to be different than any other country in the world. Debit is debit and credit is credit everywhere, except Netherlands.

β β β β β I love this branch of AH, situated near Leidseplein (there are two other branches on this street), and located in a beautiful residential building. It's one of the cleanest and well organised AHs I've seen in any city centre with really friendly and helpful staff. I went in just to get a couple of bottles of AH brand red wine (excellent quality at bottom price!) but ended up getting other goodies too!
