horrible. i am waiting since november (8 months!) to have my sewing machine repaired by them. after months still no one contacted me. iβ€˜ve been trying to call them several times, and every time i get told that i should call again tomorrow (..or the day after tomorrow, or next week,..) and they still did not manage to give me back my machine. lady on the phone is super unpolite and aggressive. update: 8 months of waiting to be told they can not fix it.

The man is not at all client friendly There is a woman call ed Karin who works in the shop who has always been most helpful and friendly. e.g. I went to buy a foot to make a jeans seam, she showed me with paper how to do it without buying the (fairly expensive) foot.However it would take 2-3 times as long to do it without so I would have preferred to just buy the foot! At the end of October I took my old machine to get it fixed there. The tall (blading man) was not particularly nice, or friendly. He refused to fix my machine because it was cheap and sold me a Lewenstein cinderella 15 for 179, with the understanding that it is a good make and would last and and if anything went wrong with it, they would fix it without a problem. I took the machine out of it's box to use after three months and the transport system didn't work. I phoned and was told to bring it into the shop. Again when I walked in he looked at me like I'd crawled out from under a stone. The other man said directly that the transport was no good. They took the machine and said they would fix it but first they wanted to see my receipt. I think any half decent place would just replace the machine - after seeing the receipt, which I emailed. There was also no apology for having sold a duff machine or for my inconvienience in having to bring it back. I have signed up for a course on how to use my overlock machine. I had to email three times and then still look up the correct bank account address myself!

Loved HER rather than it! Would have preferred to write a new review but google won't let me Have to add to my first one - see under. Been having lots of trouble with my new machine but, I was fairly sure it was me. Was very nervous about going to the shop again but the pocket rules and I wasn't going to pay when it is still under guarantee. I phoned the shop and asked to speak to Karin, who told me when she would be in the shop. When I got there and went in the boss was really neutral - no hint of our earlier acrimonious email exchange but of course could find nothing wrong with the machine. Karin arrived and was SPECTACULAR! She took time to explain very clearly everything I wanted to ask needed to know. She ound the problem with the machine and fixed it gave me a mini lesson, explained how to do a sewing problem I've been having. Wrote everything up that I needed to remember, gave me a sheet with to explain which needles to use. Her amazingly knowledgeable, friendly, client oriented service is the reason I went to the shop in the first place. Was happy to receive it again. HATED IT - March 2015 Whatever you do, DO NOT COMPLAIN! You will be barred from the shop! - This will then be rescinded - because it is illegal. However if you are signed up for a workshop. You will NOT be allowed to attend and anyone booked in with you will also be banned from coming to the workshop! ItΕ› true! - I have the emails to prove it! You gave us a bad review, you are not welcome. No apologies, no attempt to improve the situation. Attack, attack, attack! Het ga u goed Gerard! The shop assistant Karin worth her weight in gold, wasted working for Wouters! Gotta love the alliteration!

I took my sewing machine (not purchased from Wouters) for repair and they accepted it and said it would be finished in 2-3 weeks. In the end I had to wait for 7.5 weeks even though I had told them I am a 4th year fashion student and I needed my sewing machine repaired urgently so that I could do my work. Even worse, in the end they did not even fix the machine, it was just a problem with the type of thread I was using - so I waited 7.5 weeks for nothing! I would not recommend their very slow and poor service.

I took my sewing machine to be repaired, I briefly explained the issue to Karin, the wonderful sales assistant & she immediately sprang into action, grabbing a tool, she expertly up ended my machine on the counter of the shop & in less than 5 minutes Karin, the sewing machine magician had cured my machine. She even changed the needle and all of this for free, gratis, no cost! Karin exceeded my expectations, I didn't buy my machine here, but I will definitely be purchasing all future equipment & tools here as the service provided by Karin is exceptional.

Disaster experience! Don’t take your machine there for service! Super bad customer attention, the lady there is super rude and they don’t help. I took my machine for a service, they told me that was going to be ready in 2-3 weeks, after that I start calling them and every week they told me: next week is going to be ready, and never happened! After 8 weeks, I had a huge fight with the lady and I went to pick up my machine (that they didn’t touch, no fixed at all), to another location also... so a totally disaster! very disappointed. Shame on you! You should pay me for the time I lost...

For sewing supplies is heaven on earth, or heaven in Amsterdam, you can find everything in there. I bought there my two sewing machines and fixed one of them recently there, the worker was super professional and you can see she really knows her business and make an effort to put the machine to work. I agree with some reviews about the unfriendliness you can experience from the staff sometimes, but in Amsterdam that's almost normal, friendliness towards customers is not an Amsterdamer quality, you experience that quite often in this city (unfortunately). This being said, never felt refused or mistreated in that shop and overall I think they provide a good service. Thank you!!

Nice people here, very helpful and great stop for needles and other supplies. Unfortunately no β€œbedenktijd” when purchasing a new machine. I understand the reasons for this, but ultimately felt it was safer to order my overlocker online.
