Gem in the Veluwe woods. Most trees and shrubs have name tags. Instructive with tree-lined walkway of approximately 1.3 km.

Made a beautiful walk in this Arboretum where again a group of volunteers was busy putting their shoulders to the wheel to make it beautiful for us. Seen many mushrooms. Top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heel mooi arboretum, dat erg natuurlijk aanvoelt, niet alsof het is aangelegd. De vrijwilligers die het onderhouden doen dit duidelijk met veel liefde voor bomen en planten. Het lijkt een wilde oase van rust met bijzondere bomen en zelfs een geheime tuin. Veel vlindertjes die afkomen op de gedurende bloemen. Een fijne plek om even tot rust te komen.
Very nice arboretum, which feels very natural, not like it was landscaped. The volunteers who maintain it clearly do this with a lot of love for trees and plants. It seems like a wild oasis of peace with special trees and even a secret garden. Many butterflies that come to the during flowers. A nice place to relax for a while.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wat een mooie plek in het bos. Fijn dat het arboretum zo natuurlijk is ingericht en omgevallen bomen blijven liggen. Veel lof voor het werk van de vrijwilligers. We hebben goede informatie kunnen krijgen via de audio app al lopend door het arboretum.
What a beautiful place in the forest. It's great that the arboretum has been designed so naturally and that fallen trees remain. Much credit for the work of the volunteers. We were able to get good information through the audio app while walking through the arboretum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Arboretum Oostereng in Wageningen is one of the most magical places I ever visited in the Netherlands.
Their philosophy is to conserve the biodiversity, which means fallen trees are left on the ground for insects to eat and birds to hide in. Some parts are left really quite wild. It is hard to find such a large variety of birds in one place nowadays, but due to this approach I felt like a visitor, a guest in nature.
The place is run by volunteers, who’ve done not just a great job with the physical side of things, but have done much with little digitally as well. There is an excellent audio tour, with short, informative and accessible texts that you can access via a Google Drive link. Simple, but it works perfectly.
I highly recommend a visit!
