★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, but like others experience poor service here at times. Waitress at lunch today missed tortilla chips off my order. When questioned she said they didn't provide tortillas any more (but hadn't offered a substitute when I ordered). I said we'd had them 2 days before, she stuck to her story. Then she said she had given us fries in place of chips... I pointed out that we had ordered the fries so they weren't a substitute. Half an hour later the chef went out and came back with a carrier bag full of chips from a local supermarket. So they do them, but had just run out. Why she felt the need to lie, I don't know. Just very poor customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During a week in Leiden this quickly became a favourite spot to have a drink and more than one dinner. Great setting with the terrace and outdoor tables catching all the late afternoon sunlight, next to a quiet and slow canal.
They have good, decent food at reasonable prices and the staff was friendly and nice even as we stumbled in asking if the kitchen was still open at 9.45pm (it was).
I really liked the spare ribs, and I am told the vegetarian burger was also quite good. Great fries.
