★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely authentic Indonesian restaurant. Plentiful portions, well cooked food and good drinks. Service is good, they regularly came by and asked if we needed more drinks.
Definitely book a table as it can get very busy at popular times.
Toilets are good and clean but there's no sign differentiating male and female which could lead to an embarrassment!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Indonesian food is hard to replicate as so many specific ingredients are required for the real taste of Indonesia, however, at Bali James they have figured it all out. The dishes are exactly the way you would expect them to be in Indonesia and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The place has been run by the same family for multiple decades and the experience can be tasted!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience. The food is really the best Indonesian food I've had outside Indonesia. Order the large rijsttafel for a good sharing experience but only if you are really hungry. Expect to take some leftovers home with you as well.
The goat meat skewers are a must.
Make sure you reserve before you go.

Let me elaborate. But seriously, I have fair points on my judgements.
The ambience and the menu of this restaurant was all about Balinese. Taste was great so I should say food was excellent. Big portions and good presentation.
Services was extremely poor. All the people who worked there, literally did not look around when they were walking towards table to see who might need assistance. Basically, Slow response.
It took forever to order additional things and even for our bill.
If you scroll down you'll see lots of people talking about same problems. ?
Idk why the owner never look at all of these comments about their services. And make improvements out of it ?
