★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked this hotel last minute due to some issues we had with our original booking. Prices were fine and location was good; but employees weren't really joyful. The spaces and rooms were well furnished, but badly maintained; tables were dirty and coffee machine didn't worked in the room. Bed wasn't great neither. I won't comment on food. So, my experience wasn't really great to be honest; but others might think differently.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was dirty, with a layer of dustballs under the bed, a cockroach and hair in the bathroom. Hallways also dirty. Trashcan right next to the reception was not emptied for 48 hours that we were there. Disgusting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since I was travelling for business, the hotel was very close to the highway with good internal car park. Location is also very close to public transports if you want to reach the city centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Accidentally we booked a non-refundable rate for 3 rooms and due to COVID restrictions and travel warnings we couldnt travel to Utrecht. The Hotel denied our request to change the booking to another date next year. This is very dissapointing and way not accomodating what we expected. The Hotel should at least issue a voucher or accept a rebooking to another date. Consequently, we will never book the Bastion Hotel again due to this "customer focus".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty decent, I mean it's a 3 star hotel, so you can't have really high expectations for it.
The room was okay, not the cleanest, but reasonable. Really liked that it had ambient lighting which was very subtle and it gave it a moodier atmosphere. My main issue was that the heating was not working, so it was a bit cold most of the time (even if you set a high temperature and heat in the thermostat). Another issue was that the door would not close by itself, so you have to force it a bit in order to close and the cleaning lady did not do that, so anyone could have entered my room while I was away, that was not good.
The breakfast was surprisingly good for 3 stars and also service was very good. People were friendly and willing to help, and I requested a wake-up call at 5:35, and exactly at that time they called, so perfect.
Overall 4/5, pretty good hotel for a 3 star one.
